Dr Derrick Ha offers a unique 1-on-1 service for students and parents who wish to seek his expert advice. These private 70-minute Zoom sessions are tailored to your needs. Students and parents will be provided with a written questionnaire prior to the session to allow them to highlight the areas that they wish to discuss. The content of each session is completely customisable, and is not limited to matters involving the VCE. If you wish to cover multiple areas, it is possible to book additional sessions at a later date if needed.
Commonly requested topics include:
- What is the best way to pick VCE subjects to support my child's interests and goals?
- My child is in primary/early secondary school. What is the VCE and how does it work? How should I best prepare for this ahead of time?
- My child would like to pursue a career in medicine. How should he/she approach this?
- How should I prepare for the selection interviews for entry into a medical degree?
- What other career pathways exist outside of medicine?
- What is the pathway for training to become a senior doctor after finishing university?
- What is involved in the day-to-day job of a doctor? How does this change as a doctor progresses through their junior roles into more senior specialised roles?
- How can I balance my studies with other extracurricular and life pursuits?
- How can I improve my exam and study technique?
- What is the best way to approach studies whilst taking into account health conditions or other learning difficulties that may impact a child or other family members?
